Due to the global pandemic context, the search for health improvement has increased. While the most common factors affecting health problems are diet and sedentary lifestyle, good sleep is also a critical factor considering that we spend an average of one third of our lives sleeping, so it is imperative to achieve good quality sleep. This is because good sleep decreases the chances of suffering heart failure (EuropeanHeart Journal), and prevents neurodegenerative diseases (InfoHealth). As a result of more than 20 years of experience in Cabo de Hornos, we have detected a common and recurring problem in our clients: neck and shoulder pain, lumbar pain, myalgia, intermittent sleep, among other factors, due to the fact that they do not have a structure (bed and pillow) that fits their body. In the United States alone, it is estimated that between 50 and 70 million people are affected by sleep-related health problems. Additionally, due to the change in people's lifestyles and the lack of education about the impact of sleep deprivation on health, it has been estimated that 1 in 3 people are affected by sleep-related problems.
We are developing a smart bed (Pillow + Topper) that through Artificial Intelligence tools and Internet of Things allows to monitor and control in real time the positions of the person when sleeping, seeking to improve the efficiency of sleep. We differ from existing alternatives due to the customization of the solution.
